Why Standard Air Purifiers Are the Wrong Tool

New construction and renovation release formaldehyde, benzene, toluene, xylene, and dozens of other volatile organic compounds from plywood, MDF, OSB, vinyl flooring, adhesives, sealants, and paint. These are gases, not particles. HEPA filters capture particles down to 0.3 microns — they do nothing to gas molecules.

A standard air purifier with a thin activated carbon layer (4-8 oz, typical for most consumer units) will reduce everyday cooking odors and light VOC spikes.
